Let's see how far I've gotten...  these are completed, these are in progress, and these are failed or abandoned.

Total goals completed:  37/101

I've been making slow progress on my 101 goals - well, it's only day 10 of 1001.  But so far on my list, I have:

64. Upgraded my computer to Windows XP (which was a pain, frustrating, and finally successful, and now I can watch Netflix on Demand).

65. Bought a new mp3 player - specifically, an 80 GB iPod Classic, in silver.  My old 30 gig archive is still perfectly serviceable, but getting full.  Also, it's a full half inch thick which makes it awkward to fit in my purse along with important stuff like keys and my inhaler, and I can also watch movies on the new one.   And I can probably sell the old one for a chunk of change online, so there ya go.

99. Converted our wedding photo negatives to digital prints.  I got a recommendation from my Uncle K, who knows photography, for a place we could entrust our wedding negatives, and now we've got something we can easily back up, and I'm no longer nervous that we're going to do something stupid to the negatives.

That's 3 down, 98 to go :-)

In progress, I've picked out the half marathon I'm going to walk - the Rock and Roll San Jose 1/2 Marathon.  It's got a four-hour time limit, it's close by, and San Jose is a lot less hilly than San Francisco so I think it's a good place to start.  It's October 5th, just a couple days after my birthday.  I'll start my training walks on July 1st.

I've also ready a couple books from our library, started on my Asimov's magazines, pushed a couple Academy award-winning movies and documentaries toward the top of my Netflix queue, and actually started up my Starry Night cross-stitch again.

I mentioned the other day that I was getting ready to start a new project. It's 101 goals in 1001 days - basically, write down 101 things that I want to do/accomplish/experience/etcetera and then over the next 1001 days (around 2.75 years) do all of them, or as much as I can. I got the idea after reading the archives over at The Simple Dollar, but considering it's 1)on the internet and 2)starts out with a big long personal list, no doubt it's turned into a meme being passed around lj so some of y'all might have seen it before.

Anyway, it really appeals to me because I've got a pretty unfulfilling job, so I spend a lot of time doing something I don't particularly care about. Now, there are a lot of positive things about the job, but a sense of personal satisfaction is not one of them. So when I read about 101 goals I thought it fit the bill perfectly.

Writing up the list was a challenge in and of itself, but I think I've come up with a good variety of goals. Some are easy, some are more difficult, some are things I want to do and others I know I should do. I think it will be a stretch to accomplish all of this, and I wrote the list with the intention that I wouldn't be able to complete all of it. But it's something to strive for, and I'm excited about it. My official start date is tomorrow, and 1001 days from then is February 10th, 2011.

Goals after the cut, because 101 is a long list... )
