Apparently the brain cells that get a work-out reading the Internal Revenue Code and doing taxes are the same ones required for the NYT crossword puzzles.  I hadn't done any puzzles in months, basically over tax season, but I printed out a couple to do between classes to get back in practice, because I'd get good enough to do a Sunday puzzle... except that today between classes, I finally, unexpectedly, finished my first Sunday puzzle!  The theme jumped out at me, and everything fell into place with not too much trouble, and I was so surprised when I realized I'd almost finished the puzzle without having to look up a single clue.  Okay, maybe it's not a major accomplishment, but I'm proud of myself  anyway!
